“Desperate times call for desperate measures.”

This saying becomes Norah’s life when she summons a demon in a bid for safety. The demon which turns up isn’t just any crossroads demon, however, but a full-fledged Lord of Hell who now finds himself with a live human in his care while juggling his own problems.

Alistair sees the opportunity in Norah’s stay and they make a deal: she becomes his companion and shield in the trappings of Underworld courting, and he will keep her safe in a dimension which would like nothing more than gobble her up, body and soul.

...all that because of one very good kiss.
